Junjo vs. Linval
Both great producers... who's your favorite?

Linval gets the slight edge IMO. He had the most consistently creative riddims.

Re: Junjo vs. Linval
The reason I started this thread was because I've always been a *huge* fan of the Junjo riddims and considered Linval basically a "poor man's Junjo".
After jamming to some Linval gems, including "Babylonian" by Bunny Lie Lie and Barry Brown's "Love Is What The World Wants", I now realize my folly. Linval is incredible! (... and I'm a fool.)
I'm still partial to Junjo but I definitely see Linval as his equal.

Re: Junjo vs. Linval
The fact that Linval and Junjo produced some of the same artists - and often utilized the same backing band, studios, and engineers - makes this a very tough call. IMO, the Volcano and Thompson Sound catalogs were the two toughest of the early eighties, both with hard riddims, and outstanding production value. I feel that Junjo is the Don, and deserves much, much respect, but for me, the fact that Linval Thompson is also a singer tips the scale slightly his way

Linval all the way.... Didn't rely on studio one riddims(with the roots radics rarely if ever use dem) nearly as much Junjo. Linval ah di best....
