Not surprising... Most of them new artists are hypocrites who use the Rasta name to promote a false image of themselves an sell more records to the brainwashed youth. The new "rasta" is one who constantly deal with violence, materialism, infidelity, and badmindedness of all sorts. IMO the music industry corporations are to blame... they do anything to maximize profit and keep the youth ignorant.

What`s left to make money out of - rasta. They have done reggae and hip hop and every other street culture graff art, break dancing and its now all acceptable, where as before is was to be shunned and dismissed as a dangerous passing phaze.
How its turned full circle in that the parents were brainwashed into thinking gangster rap was where it was at so it becomes acceptable for their kids to now run the streets with so called terror and violence.
All brainwashed to be Americanize to be on the Americans side of war as the terrorists and invaders of countries and culture.

Its not an excuse to be excused just because you say you like the music, reggae or hip hop.
coz not until they know theres money to be made out of it.
They can pump £32 million pound into a sink estate which £31 million pound is scamed by the council and their sub contracters and the headline is we spent million and millions of pounds on sink estates and the lifts are still broken after 6 months and will have to spend another few million to not fix it again.
The government is making millions of pounds out of poverty just in the sink estates alone.
Wise up rasta coz rasta is just another babylon system to make money out of.
Two face rasta inna babylon,Two face b-boy inna hip hop rap babylon.
When they start banning USA gangster rap most of them aint lived in no ghetto or poverty and chat some rubbish to control the masses coz they are paid buy the US government to hold the peace in zero tolorence with doctors and lawyers as parents.
I am not living in a museum with old school hip hop and real roots reggae, coz the ones who say your living in the past are the new world order.

peace

hey Stepping Razor, I appreciate your grievances and yes a whole heap of people in this country are full of shit - but I hope it doesn't surprise you to know that there really are good US people (about 10 by my last count! just joking). Democracy here is a farce - same as in the babylon you live in - but I think the people on this forum from the US and other countries, while generally focussing on common shared musical interests and socio-political reasoning - accept that corporate rule is a bad thing. I really don't think anyone contributing here has a problem with that.

Vent at will, that is what forums are for, but chill - I think we are all some kind of brothers here.

@Jah Titus - humble is good but only possible if you remove yourself as much as possible from material things and concerns as a true Rasta would do.
A hard thing in the material day to day.
My wife would probably actually physically murder me if I humbled myself as much as I think fitting, philosophically...

When i talk about the USA and UK its not directed at the normal person with common sense, its the false way our countries operate, in that oh dear hes said something about our country like a nanny state, but while the youth are getting fooled by the fake democracy there are real issues to be talked about without having grievances, just the way it is.

They say stop and search is targeting black people, but stop and search is targeting rasta. There is a difference and that rasta yet again is the scape goat, at dances they say all the trouble is at a roots reggae dance, which is incorrect, see how much trouble at a ragga and rap show and drum & bass fairs no better.
Rasta is a way of life, not some trendy fashion and a dreadlocks hair-do, or some fashionable french patois.
Tell me then why rasta has been downpressed for so long - some type of threat of which babylon dont understand - its seems anything babylon dont understand is a threat.

peace edit on spelling
