KAB Electro Acoustics

Incidentally, their site says;
""M" means needle is made for MANUAL professional type
turntable - has highest internal compliance."
Nothing about "N" though.

Although again it would point (to me anyway) that this is the 33/45 stylus as I can't see a 78 stylus being referred to in this manner. Again, I am just assuming here.
thank you for the link,, a whole heap of tips on that page...

Hi ras_gaks

No probs. Just had a PM from Trevor as he is back from his holidays. I'll ask him now.

Hi there ras_gaks,

Just back from the holiday,and got a gee-up PM from 6anbatte !!!
So,here we go....

It seems as though the stylus you have got is from the PHILIPS AG/AU range ?( Have you got a PHILIPS turntable there ? )

This range of flip-over stylii is for LP and `78 rpm.The stylus type is a spherical diamond for a CERAMIC cartridge, not common at all nowadays.

I would be VERY wary of using a spherical diamond on a modern record - 60`s onward...- as the tip profile is a bit crude, and may damage the groove walls of your vinyl making them quite " noisy " after a while.

Check out this website - www.StylusPlus.co.uk - and see if your " flip-over " is featured on there. It will give you the model no. of your turntable if it is a Philips etc.,etc.

Best that I can do,matey !!!

ACEtone,it`s about time you got a turntable and wallowed in all that bacon fat :D :D

hey AnorakTrev,
I do indeed have a turn table and very much enjoy the sounds it makes both intentional (music) and unintentional (sizzle, crackle, pop etc.)
there is nothing special about my set up but it still sounds nicer than CDs, iPods etc.

by the way, my music buying history predates digital media by a few years.

And for some reason my Gemini turntable plays 78s though even if I had any I wouldnt use the 33-45 cartridge to play them...
