Re: Mystery Recording Solved! Reality-Nelson Mandela
Hi Dubs West,
Nice research. I'm really interested in this group now (I never heard anything of them). Btw, where can I find that "Freedom Song"? I don't see it on LeggoRockers, or am I doing something wrong?

Ahoi Dubs, everything Irie Thekwini side?,poppin into this site every now and then and good to see da youths still loving da rootz an' riddimz Mbaqanga Bay side! This has always been one of my interests, the connection between S.A. and Jamaican music and the deeper I've dug through the years the more surprises have popped up.Specially the more jazzy stuff dat I love.Reggie Msomi was doing Midnight Ska in 1965 and Carlos Malcolm Skokiaan, which he called Skakian, at the same time.Like the new Cedric Brooks re-release features a track Emavungweni by Ndikho Xaba,a Durban cat,who also worked with Oneness of Juju.Cedric Brooks plays on a track of the Afrobeat band,Akoya Afrobeat, who's sax player ,for years played with various Durban reggae bands,Duke Mseleku,so the circles close again. Also check out Aura Msimang, who played with Scratch and Marley. One album that I dig(there's plenty)is Harold Butler,Africa On My Mind, with a big focus on Mzansi. As for dubbin' Tommy McCook's Mandela off Satta Dub.Greentings an' burn the chalice with some good nsangu that only the green valleys of Kwa Zulu can produce!
