Hi,
Can anyone give me some info on the "Rite Sound Reggae Story" compilation album. I am familiar with the artists but, to the best of my knowledge, none of the tracks. However, I can recall an album with Gladstone Anderson band playing dub versions following on the vocal.
Is this the same album and is it worth picking up.
Respect
Dave

Very strong roots album
As Fadel says, "Jah Garden" is a beautful song.

Re: Rite Sound Reggae
Some information about Rite Sound: the company was based in East London. The owner was called Roy, he had a record shop in leyton which is long since gone, maybe 20 years ago now. Another breddah used to work in the shop, it was a nice spot to pick up a few tunes and hang out, always a friendly vibe. Rite Sounds definitely went for quality over quantity - there ain't a lot of music on the label, aka Write Sounds, but what there was was definitely stong, favouring people like Jackie Mittoo and Gladdy for a strongly melodic vibe. That Revelations track is rootsy lovers at its finest... The company's ambitions were limited - they put the music out becaus they liked it, not to have pop hits - but they still got nice reviews in Black Echoes and oddly, the local paper. Nice vibes and nice times.

On Moods International label, with the killer "jah feelings" on B side. A crucial 12" imo.
Keep checking reggaerecord.com, i'm sure it will show up again anytime.
Blessings,
