vocal version of hugh mundell song

Hi, I posted this thread must be 3 years ago now with no success, but I have more details now. I'm trying to find out who did a vocal cut of Hugh Mundell's - million miles / million dub with the opening line " If you ever trust in Jah Jah my friend, you must live in love and unity ". It dates back to about 1980-81, and I've long time lost the tape that had it on. I would just like to know who sung it. As the chances of it being still available are extremely remote, thanks.

Hello Bongo Herman. I've checked the Norris Reid song and it's not his. The voice on this mystery song sounded to me like Prince Lincoln or Roy Cousins, but on checking various tracks from both of their groups I haven't come across it yet.

I used to confuse Lacksley castell & Hugh Mundell in "Jah Fire" album.No more confusing."Million miles" is for sure Lacksley castell on vocals.

Could you be referering to the singjay version sung by Massive Dread on his dEbut LP (self Tittled)? I haven't listened to it for a while but I'll pull it out ot check later. If I remember right, It's either the "Economical crisis" or "African Roots" tune. Be back later.

Jahadambom, I've no idea. I heard the song on a david rodigan capital radio show that my cousins recorded for me when I got posted up north. As with both tapes they sent me, most of rodigan id'ing the songs were edited, it was a case of me checking the black echoes reggae charts for those few weeks to identify most of them. David Rodigan himself never bothered to reply to my request as to what the song was! The time span would fit though, he was indeed massive circa 1980-81. I'll try Greensleeves website to see if his lp is there for a sample soundbite. Thank you very much for the info. Ironically, I've tracked down and bought most of the songs that featured in that show!

Unfortunately Jahadambom, time is the master. I struggle to find the time to listen to them - and even worse, so many record shops and record companies have gone to the wall that even with the internet, or that contact name or shop info you're given, still can't get you that old sought after tune. some people just don't realise the worth of our music and heritage until it is gone. I speak not just for the music, but also the artists who usually never got their dues and royalty from what they gave us to enjoy.
