@leggo
I didn't see that one - so probably was Bruce - I saw them at WOMAD and at the Portsmouth Poly - both awesome shows
@anoraktrev
Neither - it was Saturday June 29th 1985 at Crystal Palace Football Ground - I still have the original programme - here is the full line up of a great day:
12:00 - 12:30 Investigators
1:00 - 1:40 Paul Blake
2:10 - 2:30 Caution Band with Smiley (Smiley Culture I think?)
2:30 - 3:10 Maxi Priest
3:40 - 4:20 Arrow
4:50 - 5:35 Third World
6:05 - 6:20 Sly and Robbie
6:20 - 6:40 Ini Kamoze
6:40 - 7:20 Sugar Minott
7:20 - 8:00 Gregory Isaacs
An amazing day of Reggae - some great memories - although for some odd reason my memory is a little hazy of much of the day!
Even the police were sensible that day - I found a huge head in my bag the size and shape of a 'quill pen' type bird feather and just decided to wrap the whole thing in an EZ Wider paper. It made a particularly large and oddly shaped spliff. As I went to light up I looked up and, to my horror, noticed two uniformed policemen looking straight at me. One of them said 'you need to learn how to roll them sonny!' and they carried on about their business - respect to those two officers!
Also went to another - either the year before or the year after in the same place - can remember even less of this one and have no programme
- do remember Prince Buster, The Skatalites and Lloyd Parkes and We the People (although the t shirts all said Lloyd Partes!) - can't remember who else was at this one - anyone else able to shed any light on which year and the line up for this one (if you had one of the erroneous t shirts it has the full line up for the day on it!)

Be fair Leggo - my no tobacco stance means I have used pipes a lot!
It's true though - I have rolled more than enough to get it right by now - thirty years of smoking and I still can't roll without a rolling mat - and even then they ain't brill!
