@Lenroy Nice to hear of a success story!
In answer to one of your comments about some people not valuing this music - well you're at the right website for find the people that really do value and treasure it.
What I hope to see happening more is the people who have vinyl rareties, instead of keeping them to themselves, making digital files and sharing them.
While it does not benefit the artist it does the artist no harm and in some cases if they are still living and up for performance can give the artists a bit of a boost.
The music of Jamaica from the 60s, 70s and early 80s is an incomparable and incredibly prodigious treasure that needs to be shared with the world.

ACEtone, thank you. I didn't mean to come across as melancoly, but I'd just got in from the beer festival in my home town after sampleing the products, and it had occured to me after hearing two bands that performed that night that, both mine and my brothers children (well, one of mines a big man now and checks a litte ragga at weddings, blues etc) DON'T like or appreciate reggae in any form! Did we bring them up wrong? No we didn't. We still check the tunes. A fair amount of the younger generation appears to love the lure of hip hop, rap or r&b it would seem from my observations. I agree about the digital files but, the powers that be ie, the major record companies - whats left of them, MCPS, and PRS would prefer to keep their business a closed shop unless you use napster etc
