i have seen a couple represses at my record shop,
im a big uk roots fan but the only issue is im a little weary about buying anything that was released after 1983.
so basically im asking if its in the old school traditional aswad sound or is it digital style?
is this worth getting?

Yes, it is a very worthwhile set. Great heavy and deep roots. Haven't listened to my copy for the longest time though. Will pull it out first thing in the morning and give it a sping.
From what I understood these recordings where originally dubplates that Shaka released as an album. Something that wasn't seen with too keen eyes by Aswad.

KILLLERRRRRRRRR SET, get it NOW !!!
Just bought it in London at the end of august, I was listening to it in the Eurostar and found it less than 2 hours after my arrival, was thinking to buy it for several weeks. My favorite Jah Shaka album.
@roms77 : yes it's striclty instrumental but it has a strong 'dub feeling'. Shaka style

The version of behold is a dub cut not instumental. It was Shaka's inclusion of behold in particular which caused vexation - he was given 5/6 'seperate style'cuts back in the day ie only held by shaka. He used to rinse behold big time. One of the cuts given to him made it's way on to the album -without agreement by Drummie and Mikey. Sadly he chose to release the least dynamic of the cuts and then made matters worse by deliberately mixing the bass low ( as in quiet rather than sub).Killer album still. Respects

Agree with all of your comments. Indeed instrumental album , but the atmosphere is so hypnotic and the sound so deep that it gives you the dub sensation. A great great release, even for me who is not that much into Dub.
It's also my Jah Shaka's favorite album.
