Re: Aswad "A New Chapter In Dub"
it would be impossible to tell how many copies were released - as it was released on a major label, Island Records and available world-wide.
it can be obtained easily through ebay etc (vinyl and cd)and also the cd can be obtained through the usual music outlets...amazon etc, as well as being available for download at iTunes, Napster....
probably the ultimate uk dub album. a must for any reggae collector.
regards

Not to be confused of course with
'New Chapter' . It's hard to belief
it was the same group!Aswad without
Mikey Campbell.........it just wasn't

Hi Pablo,
what's wrong with 'New Chapter'? It IS produced by Aswad and Michael 'Reuben' Campbell. Every record from 'Hulet' until 'To the Top' in 1986 was produced jointly by the group and him.
Greetings.

Re: Aswad "A New Chapter In Dub"
My apologies Bellyman
my memory's playing up here
I should have checked out the archives first!
It appears I was thinking of 'Not Satisfied'
though I still remember not taking much to
'New Chapter' which compared to it's dub counterpart
was a bit limp esp.after Hulet or Showcase.
I didn't realise it was a Mikey Campbell
production -whom I had the great honour of meeting
several times at gigs btw -it sounded so different!
I felt they were off in a more 'commercial' direction after that
(not enough jazz!).
Though their gigs were still unforgetable c.f. Live & Direct.
These days I have the first 3 albums + New Chapter
in dub on CD & have been wary of later albums but
maybe I'd appreciate them more now.
