Re: Lesser known artists
well some of my obscure favourite artists made only one or two tune....so they are all big at the same level.
When i think to this singers i like to think to simple men , humble persons that got an inspiration and they record it with music...maybe they were not professional singer...their only technic was the vibes and the inspiration that they felt...and they impress it on plastic.
It's a good feeling that i have when i hear some obscure tunes...and that's why i love them so much

Re: Lesser known artists
people with full Lps that remain virtually unknown:
David Jahson
Reggae George
Capital Letters
Jimmy London
Flick Wilson
Paketo Wilson
Samuel Mickle
Delton Screechie
Sword of Jah Mouth
The list could go on but that's a good start.

George Allison! Never heard of him until I picked up the "So Unusual" LP in a used record shop. I spin it at least once a week. Great artist, not a lot of material.

What about uk bands like Merger, and Talisman, they used to do the rounds quite a bit back in the late 70s.
What about King Sounds and the Israelites, they did a good version of Patches.
