I always have a heap full of unlistened CD's in a box due to the fact that my listening time is rather limited. This morning I
threw the CD of 'Earthquake Dub' in my player. I immediately
recogniced that this one is obviously 'Satisfaction in Dub', of
which I own the original vinyl on 'Live & Love'.
The release date for both is 1978. Was there a deal between
Bunny Lee/Joe Gibbs and Ossie Hibbert to release the first one
for the JA/U.S. market & the latter one in the UK with totally
different titles. Anybody can shed light on this?

Hey Gibey
The "Earthquake..." liner notes say (my highlights);
"Earthquake Dub” was the very first dub album produced by Ossie Hibbert; released on Ossie’s own ‘Earthquake’ label, early pressings of this set also appeared on Joe Gibbs ‘Record Globe’ imprint, **as well as on Count Shelley’s ‘Live & Love’ label in the UK. This latter pressing - given to Shelley by Ossie’s New York based colleague Winston Jones - had all tracks retitled**; the current reissue follows the titles as used by Ossie on the original pressings."

Hey 6anbatte,
thank you for your quick & solving response. I have to confess, that I didn't find the time to read the liner notes early this morning. I was in a shock! This is funny. I'm very pleased for all the dub collectors now, who were unsuccessfully hunting for 'Satisfaction'...
It would be much easier though, to put all three releases on
one page here on RA. Clicking the 'Earthquake' label, only
'Crueshal Dub' turns up. Have you ever heard of that one?

Hey Gibey
No worries. My pleasure. I cheated a bit as I remembered that Lion had kindly reproduced the liner notes in a previous thread at the time "Earthquake Dub" was reissued.
I do have "Crueshal Dub".

Not sure what Gibey means as "Crueshal Dub" definitely ***isn't*** the same as "Earthquake Dub". It is on the Earthquake label though!
Actually, I do see what he means (I think) and it's to do with the fact that "Earthquake Dub" was the first album on the **[Earthquake Label](http://www.roots-archives.com/label/1000)** and as **["Crueshal Dub"](http://www.roots-archives.com/release/5054#rel6626)** is the only album on RA on **[Earthquake]((http://www.roots-archives.com/label/1000)** then it appears that "Earthquake Dub" and "Crueshal Dub" are the same album etc...
Blimey, much too subtle a joke for the likes of me!
Well, as mentioned earlier they aren't the same album.
Scorching cut on the "Please Be True" riddim by the way!

Awesome, wall-shaking album. One of my favourites. Must cross-reference those two tonight. Thanks for the heads-up.DUDLEY 1NE wrote:Crueshal Dub has some simular tracks differently mixed as this lp
