Finally had a chance to view the trailer and it looks great. The live footage near the end of the clip is from a gig in SF in August 2007 that I attended. He was backed by Dub is a Weapon-killer dub band from Brooklyn, NY. (On a side note: all this talk about his supposed "madness," I find amusing since he's always been like this, hasn't he? For some, including myself, his persona refreshing, not insane.)

The reviews i read of the documentary have been very poor, i copied and pasted one to my blog several weeks back, u may have to search for it.
I don't think we will see any new footage in the film, but i haven't seen it yet so can't confirm.
I'm the same as a few others hear and prefer to leave Lee Perry and the black ark as a nice memory in my mind rather than to spoil it, he can make the best music in the world one day then the worst the next! He's not an artist i'd rush to see live these days and never thought of him as a great artist, he's made someone of the worst reggae i've ever heard! sometimes reminds me of a child playing with keyboards and instruments, but have huge respect for his black Ark days and he has produced some of the best ever made reggae in my opinion, in particular refering to the Heart of the Congos being the best reggae album ever made in my opinion.

There have been a few other documentaries on Lee Perry, one was polish? i think, i forget the name of it and the other was 'Return of the Super Ape' from Channel 4, also 'Vision of Paradise'(berlin) but not sure if it ever aired on tv.

There was an On-U Sound Documentary done in Japan made in 2005,50mins long, featuring interviews with Adrian Sherwood, Ari Up, Masa from Audio Active and
Bonjo I. There are also videos and live performances from the New Age Steppers, Audio Active, Mark Stewart, Ari Up, Bim Sherman, Lee Perry and Dub Syndicate.

i saw it the night before last at a scion event (go figure)
i really did enjoy the movie, the directors did a Q&A after the show and they said they had more than 6 hours of material, they just had to edit it down.

the interview in switzerland was kind of odd, seeing how he is now, but i did enjoy this film and will be looking for it when it comes to dvd
