Babylon/Leslie Lyrics

Post by Rob Strictly-Rockers »

The Today Programme on BBC Radio 4 had a feature on the making of the film "Babylon" this morning (Friday)at about 7.50am. It included an interview with Leslie Lyrics about the importance of Sound System. Leslie said that he is now a Dr and he wrote his doctorate on Sound Systems.

I'm not sure whether this part of the programme will be available as a podcast on the BBC Radio Website later today but I'll check later.

Regards

OK here’s the details and link if you want to hear just the Babylon bit and not the whole programme.

Almost 30 years after it was first shown in the cinemas, the film Babylon is being released on DVD. It was one of the first films about the lives of black musicians in South London, revealing the depths of racism in British society at the time. Reporter Nicola Stanbridge interviews director Franco Rosso and Trevor Laird, one of the stars of the film.

Hurry though because it may get taken down before tomorrow.
