Sorry i didnt reply properly to your message Dave,
No my location was based on the area which is near to getting out of london and not too far from the action, but it seems its pretty good for reggae also!.

Where do you intend to move to ? any ideas?

At the moment im in Bristol, good place for reggae and a decent scene but lacks my girlfriend and the adventure of a new place :P

Not a problem. And yes, Dub Vendor Clapham Junction is on Lavender Hill.

Don't know if this helps at all, but when Rootsman Dave and myself meet up we do the following;

First stop Honest Jons. Then walk to Notting Hill Gate tube (it's about a 20 minute walk). Central Line to Oxford Circus and walk to Berwick Street (10 minutes). Sister Ray's, Revival Records and then round the corner to Sounds Of The Universe.

3-4 hours. :)

Haggle is great, the seller is weird but funny and the shop is worth a visit, a giant organized mess with lots of writings such as "professionnal buyer keep away from rare records !" etc :D and prices can be negociated

But careful ! it's way way overgraded and most of the time very expensive, each time I go there, I spend something like £50 but it takes a lot of time to find records in good shape and not too expensive.

There's another shop on the same street, at the middle between angel station and Haggle called Flashback, better prices, better grades hence less choice.

The Reckless shop near angel is closed, the one in Berwick has been replaced by Revival records, good prices but small choice.

The one in whitechapel highstreet (don't remember the name either) has a big choice but a bit expensive. The name can be found on blood&fire board I think..

Sound of the universe has mostly new records and represses, same for Dub Vendor (I heard somewhere that the Notting Hill shop was closed ?)

Last time I went (in august), Massive had lots of crap and nothing good (in LPs and discomixe, don't know for singles)

Hi Bullit,

In answer to you question, I am hoping to move down to the Dorset in the next few years.

We have owned a caravan at Weymouth for 8 years and spend as much time there as possible having holidays and long weekend etc.

It is an area that I have really taken too and is a million miles from the stresses and strains of living in the London area.

There is no regaae scene al all but it seems to be the only place that I can go and truely unwind, relax and feel at peace with myself.

If thigs work out over the next couple of years as planned then its quite possible we could make the move by 2010.

Loke I said the reggae scene is non existence but I feel hat would be a small price to pay to get the move that I desire. And theirs still the internet to help meet my musical needs.

This looks like a great little trip, next time you guys meet up down there from Dec, give me a shout on here or something it'd be great to do this with you.

Haggle, ive heard quite a bit about this place, definetly sounds like its graded so you can haggle it to a sensible price rather then graded so you can get it for a steal.

Dorset is beautifl Dave, I still believe that Wiltshire, Devon, Dorset and Cornwall areas are some of the most beautiful in England. I have no doubt that i will find myself living in Cornwall at some point or another.

Dont feel too disheartened about the Dorset scene, i have been to quite a few good parties down that way and spun some reggae there myself!; maybe you can help introduce reggae further into the communities.

Hey Bullit, that sounds like a plan. me and 6anbatte usually meet up once every few months and do a little tour of the shops and finish up in the pub havng a couple of beers.

I am sure I speak for Simon too when I say you would be more than welcome to meet up with us and do the trip with us. Its always nice to put a face to the name.

I dont see any reason why we cannot do a meet sometime in December once we have cleared it with our social secretarys.
