Who between Bunny and Peter

Dear Friends,
there is a question and I would like to read your answers.
When the Wailers split, each of the three founding members took different directions (musically speaking).
I believe we loved them all, but, apart from Bob, who is or has been your favourite artist between Bunny and Peter and why.

i have always liked the works of bunny the best. very generally speaking, he expresses more love and joy in lyrics, while peter carries an angrier tone, with more focus on the injustices and brutalities. this is not always the case but it seems pretty common. one is not better than the other, iman just really love bunnys work.

peter tosh.... his lyrics are out of this world. 'i am that i am' just kills everything else.

i agree about 'i am that i am', definitely one of his best. the box set's singles collection is proof of his high talents,even if bunny was a better singer imho, even better than bob. but all three are brilliant talents in their own way

i think im biased towards peter tosh. bob marley for me, while being obviously incredible, is so overplayed. i only have 'black heart man' by bunny wailer whereas i have almost everything by peter tosh... i don't think his militancy gets in the way of his songwriting... i personally think he's arguably the better songwriter out of the wailers. the lp 'equal rights' has got to be one of the greatest albums of all time in any genre.

I grew up in South Africa and when I was in school and getting into reggae in the late eighties/early nineties Peter Tosh could certainly have been considered to be at least Bob's equal in terms of popularity. In fact I'd even say he was more popular. This was probably because he was always a little more militant. There was/is a Peter Tosh community centre in Guguletu which is a large township on the outskirts of Cape Town. Peter Tosh also had songs banned by the apartheid government while Bob didn't (as far as I know) I don't remember ever seeing anything by Bunny in the shops other than "Blackheart Man" and "Sings The Wailers". Protest might have been banned. Personally, I love them all and wouldn't be able to choose between them.

The album "Survival" that was released in 1979 was partly cencured by the Apartheid government in SA.
