Riddims with very special instruments

I would like to come back (serious) on Dave referring to the Cutty Ranks track on Skengdon. The instrument used was a synthesizer (possibly a Korg-Poly) tuned to a flute-sound.

Same was used on the Junior Delgado track inna violin-mode. The use of these sounds made Skengdon a likkle outstanding at that times but nothing so special.

You surprise me when you say those Skengdon dubs were done using a synthesizer. the sound on those tracks sound very authentic, especially the violin sound on "Nine fence Dub"

Do think those Skengdon dubs are pretty tough, especially the Skengdon All Stars "Mandela Dub"

I do think they are somewhat better than "Nothing so Special"

I am with you considering the Skengdon versions 'xtra special' for these times, I meant 'nothing so special' regarding the instruments questioned in this topic. And I am still standing calling that synthsounds. )

Hi Bellyman, found this right now and don´t know whether these lines will reach you. But I let you know, the guy you´re talking about is still alive and in good healthy -he is from Jamaica and now living in Germany - he´s my husband.

The record you show he never could get in his own country and of course he didn´t get money for it.
