Reggae from other carribean islands
Out of interest more than anything. Does anyone know whether there are reggae scenes on any of the other Carribean Islands. I was at the Crop Over carnival in Barbados in 1989 and there was a sound system playing, and I know that some Jamaican artists have played on other Islands, but I never hear about artists from the other Islands.

if you're talking about the 70' period it's indeed harder to find than nowadays. I'd advice the very soulful Bankie Banx and his roots and herbs, particularly his first album that has a fine folk influence. I think he was from St Martin Island, and it's recorded out there.
Some recording sessions were done in Bahamas also but i don't know if it involved local musicians.

As far as I know, there had been only 1 recording of a local band in Bahamas during the 70s...
Its an album released as "Ital Foundation Vol 1"
from the same named band...
Nice roots, really.
