Nihght Nurse defenitly has a double meaning love song / coke song. No doubt possible.

Greg coke addiction started before 87, as he went in jail in 87 for coke possession. It probably started with the coke business from the very early 80's.

The fact Greg wrote a tune like Night Nurse does not mean it's about HIS addiction! Of course it's higly possible, but for me it's just among the best Coke song ever written.


I don't see the point about Greg addiction. That's just a fact, no more. Anyway he remains for me the best jamaican singer with Dennis Brown. All Greg LPs from the first to at least Night Nurse LP are must have.

I realy like the tune, I realy like the singer and i don't care about his good or bad abbits. Greg is just a top artsit.

i knew someone who said he met isaacs and he explained that the song night nurse was refering to rock. maybe he was refering to coke when he said rock. Regardless, night nurse is one of my all time favorite jams to smoke a good spliff to.

Why do people believe that it wasn't around before 1981? Unfortunately, it was, although the word "crack" started to become commonplace only when Nancy Reagan started her war on drugs in the early 80's. Prior to that, it was simply known as "freebasing". I know this not from my own exeprience, but I lost a collegue to it in 1980.

As for Gregory - how is this anyone's business except his own? I am sure he isn't speculating on your personal life, so why do the same to his?
