The Grammacks of Dominica have a couple great reggae tracks. Village Drums of Freedom "praise jah" 12 and the Lp of Black Rhythm Truth Bnad are not to be missed...Guyanese rocksteady of Paul Gonsalves...plenty plenty more...

Yeah ! Gramacks have lots of reggae tracks. As far as I know, it's the most productive reggae band in the carribean islands in the late 70s early 80s.

Actually, most of the steel bands have made some reggae tunes but sometimes only one by album.

I'm trying to find those tunes, including tunes recorded in France by french carribean people and I'm trying to find time to set up a page on a website that would gather those tunes and the record covers...

Same for late 70s and early 80s african reggae...

Mark Holder's "Saturday Night Reggae" from the early 70's is sick track (steel pan and all). Guyana has some serious top-notch early reggae, but next to nobody knows about it because of the scant records out there.

Here's a snippet of a couple.

See what drinking too many beers does...think that Graduates Combo is JA, now, as Glen mIller is singing on the other side, but I'm still up to battle.

Ital Foundation's from Bermuda. Late 70's - early 80's. Excellent roots band & album. If you can find it you'll love it!
Blessings
