Whatever happened to my favourite label - Auralux?
Last cd I bought was Scientist's World at War in 2007. In 2008 they released nothing at all. Does anyone know what's going on with them?
I hope not the *B&F way*...

Hi Bartek
I think 6anbatte might know a bit more on this one as he used to talk with them quite often.
Shame if they gone under as they did have quite a few good releases.

That's a good question, DooP.
Can I add another one: Whatever happened to Hot Pot?

Re: Whatever happened to Auralux?
I emailed David back in June and received an "Delivery to the following recipients failed." message. I then mailed their generic email address and received no response at all. Sadly I think they are no more.

That's depressing. So really there's only Pressure Sounds left in the high-quality reissues game, eh, aside from the Wackies/Basic Channel programme...

Leggo
The vinylist is coming out in you again.
Reissue programs are an important neccessity to allow people like myself to own music I would never otherwise be able to have, or of in many cases, afford.
CDs are far cheaper to produce and distribute than their vinyl counterparts and probably sell in greater numbers.
If these labels ie Pressure Sounds never released the music on CD and relied only on vinyl sales they would still probably go out of business.
That is the nature of the beast
But then its not the CD that is the problem but the ease at which they can be copied. Surely in this day and age of technology it would be possible to encrypt the CD allowing it to play as normal but impossible to copy.
After all, Disney was doing this with video years ago.

i also fear that AURALUX is gone. but i think the latest releases were "D.C. Dub connection" and "Dread at the controls dubwise". The scientist dub set is pretty boring imo.
Hot Pot died long ago, we didn't even get part 3 of the Glen Brown series ......
