Yes I,
Martin Campbell, is excellent artists, alot people complain all his stuff sounds the same, but he puts out some killa tunes still today, check out the Ras Nyto (Ghana + Yu Talent PURE KILLA)and robert lee(Too Much War) releases on Channel 1 label, i only just discovered Martin Campbell abnout 5 months ago and never really new of him before that, he does run the UK Channel one sound system and is also a part time taxi driver so i here living down south, i beleive he's been putting stuff out scince the late 70's early 80's especially working with other artists on dubs, i'd also love to get some more tune by him, every album i have of his is killa. I was also surprised when i saw he was white, but the thought did cross my mind after checkin one of his album covers. Check out his LP 'Can Better really Come' every tune on there is killa, also 'Rootsman The Real Thing'(2001) also excellent+'Take A look'(2005)LOGLP 001. All his basslines a winner everytime, strictly rockers.
Bless,

MORE INFO:
Martin Campbell is a british artist that has been producing rhythms since the 1970's, mainly for Dub use, in the late 1980's he started to voice his rhythms himself, with the producer Rej Forte of Jah Works. Reggae Retro Records label took Martin Campbell's releases since 1994, releasing many Dub LPs. "Can Better Really Come" is his newest project. Sixteen songs recorded between 1994 /99 reemembers me the Rub A Dub era (popular style in Jamaica in the begining of the 80's), with strong rhythms and lyrics reflecting socio-economic, domestic conditions. Martin Campbell has voiced, composed, mixed and produced this solid project. "I Love A City", "The Way", "Match My Fire", Loser" and "Your Love" are classics

Re: martin campbell
Im happy to see that im not the only one who enjoys Martin Campbells music. Iv heard most of his newer albums; Heat Of The Fire, Take A Look, Can Better Really Come, Rootsman The Real Thing. I must say that there is a sound that takes some time getting used to but when you do you really see the talent of this man. I like his lyrics alot ...
I never really heard any of hes older stuff except one single (cant remember any info on it except it said "Martin Campbell" on the label,) I couldnt belive it was him so I payed no attention to it, wasnt anything special anyway.
Worthless info but; is the rumour that Martin Campbell and Jah Rej had/are having an argue about one stealing the others "style" true?
Anyway, thanks a lot for the great info, I would love to hear some of his older stuff.

Hi,
I love Martin Campbell music too. First discover it thanks to my old brother's records: "dub from NY", "dub from Berlin" and "dub from Tokyo" (there is one or two left but can't remember the names...san Diego dub?). Those are quiet special but i used to love those tracks, especially those coming from NY's. Then I founs this amazing LP "can better really come" where all tracks are real killers...and there is some few 10" also...and of course 7": my favorites are definitly this "danger man" from Steve Ital and the mighty "gun man a come" from Martin Campbell himself..again on Channel 1 UK!!!
Taxi driver vibes are wicked! aren't they?
