Winston Mcanuff: Electric Dread, 1986

Post by ras_savitri »

Greetings to all

Could someone give me a quick feedback on this album-

http://www.roots-archives.com/release/3465#rel3358

Is it really roots as stated in the archives section or is it already digital as the year could imply.

Would be grateful for any feedback as I would be looking to order this album if it is for sure not digital-

Real bass, electric drums.....I wouldn't call in "digital". Digital generally implies that it's keyboard and drum machine based.

It's not my favourite WM album either roms77.

I agree with Dave. It's electric drums but real bass (not digital like the Jammy stuff of this period). Not the best McAnuff album, but if you are real McAnuff fan is worthwile to pick up.

Sound sample of the single Won’t Give Up (last track of the album ) can be found on Ernie B:

Not a killa in my opinion!

it's a fine album, especially if you're a fan of mcanuff but clearly the electronic drum and the few synthetiser lines are a bit boring. Anyway, you can find good bass lines and an electric dread for sure.

ps : not to be compared with his first albums
ps 2 : for recent works the Nostradamus album that has just been out is really worth IMO, and not digital at all
