Post by Capt »

Already have a Lady Ann and a Barry Brown LP, plus a comp called Rocktone All Stars Presents..
Anyone knows whatelse they released, or maybe have a discography of the label?

Theres also an Al Campbell 12inch (Nowadays Youth) on Rocktone which im still looking for.. so if someone has a copy to let go..

Is the Lady Ann LP any good?

I'm pretty certain the Rocktone label was run out of Toronto, Canada, so it makes it a non-US label. The owner I don't know who it might have been. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Hi K

It was run by a man who was known at the time as "Patrick Rocktone" (I believe his last name was "Edwards") out of a record store on Oakwaood Ave in Toronto. The store was open from approx 77 - 81. I don't think he released very much material. A very nice man, anyone who went in his shop was always warmly greeted, and he went out of his way to fulfill special orders.

RKR database lists these 7" or 12":
Robert Ffrench - My Arlene
Robert Ffrench - Run come girl
Larry Marshall - Rejected Girl
Tony Tuff & Lee Van Cliff - You turn me on
Sadly, only the Larry Marshall is given a matrix, like Rasdragon already mentioned.
rougher yet

Patrick Edwards is indeed mentioned as the producer.. Looking at the numbering of the discs, i guess there are at least 3 more LP's on the label..

Always thought its a Canadian label, only there are several US-adresses on the sleeves; maybe just distributors..

The Lady Ann is really nice rub-a-dub-session..

Thanks for the replys guys!
