Is UB40 even considered "reggae enough" to be mentioned in this thread?

Wow. It seems like some people are trying too hard in here. Some of the artists mentioned have put out really good work.

@DonBanyan

ah no! Did you have to use the U word?
You have tainted the thread!

Though I did really like that Food for Thought track they did at the time. All very fast downhill after that.

I expect the moderators will revoke your privileges for a month and force you to listen to a strict diet of Grounation drumming for the rest of your sorry mortal life. ;)

To exchange views on a public forum with generally like minded people?
Guilty as charged your honour.

Abyssinians: rubbish singing, no lyrical content, cheese production

Skatalites: crap, those guys cannot play Ska

Studio one: too polished, don't like comercial reggae.

Everything mixed at King tubbys: King tubbt didn't know how to mix. Is so boring with the effects, the delay and the filtering, etc... dub is boring.

Dennis brown, Gregory isaacs, Alton ellis, delroy wilson, Heptones, wailers, etc....are complete crap too. These artists have more hits than anybody else...which proves clearly that jamaicans don't have a clue about reggae!
I cannot understand why these artists are idolized by every artist in Jamaica (when obviously they cannot sing). Why are they so influential?

OK, I'm maybe with some of you on Bunny Wailer, too many nicked nusery rhyme melodies for my liking, but going right back to the first post, Horace??! He puts on one of the best live shows I've ever seen - he can create a whole dancehall atmosphere all by himself with no accompaniment.
