By the way could you say what kind of reggae do you listen? It seems you don't appreciate reggae much...Inyaki wrote:I was J O K I N G !!!!!!!

@Flashman
Just thought I'd let you know, that I quite like a lot of Kinks music but have no time at all for the Beatles or Stones!
To those who get defensive about their favourite artist being not liked by someone - oh come on - instead of being defensive, be persuasive - you might just turn somebody around. Or if not just accept that people have different tastes.
I do firmly believe that in a lot of cases, music that has the broadest appeal and is a commercial success is more likely to have been written, recorded and marketed in that way and usually results, to my ears in watered down, insubstantial music. To my ears there is a lot of reggae (and other genres) like that, that I don't care for, but there is also a huge amount of Reggae, Rock Steady, Dub that I can't get enough of hearing. Reggae is not a religion (thankfully!) though some seem to treat it so. Jazz seems to generate a similar zeal in its adherents.
I like Leroy Smart a lot - but some don't care for him. It's really doesn't bother me at all.
Highly rated does not equal good
Commercially successful does not equal good
But neither means bad either!
Commercial and critical failure do not equal bad either!
It's all a matter of taste and opinion and that's what a forum is for. Sharing idea, self expression, joking even!
I don't know why Inyaki's joke provoked such a big reaction.

Ha, good point. For what it's worth, the Kinks are my favorite of the four I mentioned(and maybe of all bands of that sort)! I would gladly engage regularly in an all-Kinks-all-the-time forum as well. Now that I mention it there probably is one out there somewhere......
OK, that's enough off topic!
