I didn`t realise the "Talk about friend" album was that late. Certainly sounds earlier.
Another example of a good album missing because it dont meet the RA criteria.

Well, I think the Talk Bout Friend 7" came out in '92, but you probably mean even earlier than that. I don't know, it sounds pretty squarely in the early 90's to me. Another good cut on that riddim (Moving Away, I think) from the time was Garnet Silk's 'It's Growing'Rootsman wrote:I didn`t realise the "Talk about friend" album was that late. Hey, I'm relaxed. No worries. Maybe another example of the limitations of text. I'm all smiles

I was trying to joke, too. Doesn't always work out that way I guess.

I have In London Clinker CD reissue from 2001 which has a few goodish songs (hard to tell really) on it but the remastering (if it can even be called that) sounds terrible. Very thin and trebly and harsh sounding (and no not all CDs sound like that!). Anyone know if the vinyl sounds better?

Hi, I have the original LP (color cover vs black & white repress) and its a mixed bag in terms of quality; Some tunes sound like they've been recorded in through a coke can instead of a mike; Terrible. Leroy Smart's weakest albums far as I 'm concerned.

I love his particular voice. I've bought the "dread hot in africa" compil by Makasound. It's a good press, then you have multiple great 7" like Mr. Smart or the big tune NO LOVE...

i just ordered "Superstar collection" which has the same cover as the old "Superstar" lp but 26 tracks ! Includes also tracks from "In London Klinker" which overlaps in parts with the original "Superstar" Lp. i hope for good sound quality ...........
