The first time I heard Barry Brown's "Far East". That bassline....

That Leroy Stewart tune came on the back of Jazzbo's Step Forward Youth 7" on the Live & Love label (I think) in the UK. You're right flashman, it is a wicked tune, and his only release as far as I know, must have been a badman or ahead of his time; Jah Cure adopted the style years later.

Never thought of that. I guess Jah Cure does kind of sound like him. Though I can't say Jah Cure has ever reached those heights or been quite as absolutely convincing, to my ears, at least. Leroy Stewart sounds like he left his entire soul on that record!
I just created a new thread to ask this, but you've sort of answered it here already. I was wondering, since it's on a comp of Jazzbo productions, you'd think it was a Jazzbo production (duh!) but that riddim track is on a King Tubby album produced by Bunny Lee. And was Jazzbo even producing back then? Just wondering if it's Bunny Lee/King Tubby
or if Jazzbo was actually producing on that?

Yeah, I want to. I'm embarrassed to say I haven't found the time to even figure out how to do it yet. I'm facing this mental block against figuring out how to do it, despite the fact that it's obviously really easy...and I've been told how to do it by multiple people!!!
