Hello all,
Does anybody have a copy of 'Mr Walker' by Johnny Osbourne on 12"? It was released around 1979. I'd love to buy it, rare as it is, but what is more important to me is that I have a decent recoding of it. If you have this recording, I would appreciate an email or a call on 07714 202410. I have an interesting proposal to put to you.

Re: Johnny Osbourne - Mr Walker 12"
Hi all,
I've not had any responses to this - perhaps I'm getting it wrong - maybe this song was never released on 12". I have a (bad) recording of it taken off Rodigan's 'Roots Rockers' on Capital Radio in 1981, and it goes straight into a version after the vocal part, just like all the great 12 inchers did at that time.
Please, any help would be really appreciated.
I'll leave you with my favourite lyric-line at the moment, courtesy of Smiley Culture's 'Police Officer': 'With them torch they search the interior/But whatever them looking for, mi hiding place superior'.
Brilliant.
Regards,
Kipper

Is it a different version than the one on the "Musical Chopper" LP other than the version following the song? If not, the LP is easily available to purchase.

Hi Robe,
The vocal part of the song I have is identical to that on 'Musical Chopper', but I really want the version. I am fairly convinced a 12" of this song exists!

Hi 'dub',
this one was never on 12", sorry for that.
The song originally came on a Gorgon 7" in 1979 and Jammy put it first on the 'Folly Ranking' album and later with some others from that one on the 'Musical Chopper' album.
I haven't heard the 7" but maybe there's a version on the b-side
Greetings

Hi Bellyman, nice to hear from you again. I might have known that once you got a sniff of this query you would put it to bed once and for all. Thanks. I'll put the Gorgon 7" on my wish list.
It's so one-sided, I seem to have little to offer you in return and I don't want to take the mickey, but I have a song I'd love you to listen to and have a go at identifying. If you're up for it, please email me at cgha@homechoice.co.uk and I'll email you an MP3 of the song. Cheers, kipper.
In fact, anyone else who is reading and also fancies having a go, please do the same.
