I'm thinking of having a jaunt with the missus to a European Reggae festival this year. Any suggestions?

I'm aware of Reggae Sundance, but I've not got any info on it.

I have been to sundance and summerjam. Summerjam is alot bigger and attracts more artists but I prefer the location, size and atmosphere of Sundance.

You won't be disappointed if you choose one of these 2 festivals.

I avoid Summerjam in Köln/Cologne for years. Too much brutality amongst visitors due to alcohol. Po-lies hunting down people (guesss for what). Too much non-reggae artists. Too high prices for food and beverage. And there are too many thefts on the camp ground.
Professional thieves there like rats. Women with buggy sending their older children to report what´s in the tents. Daddy comes at night time to take away anything he can carry.
2 friends of mine woke up in their tent to see a man inside trying to steal their cd´s, torch, cell phone, even some lousy cans of beer.
More than disgusting.
Next morning their tent neighbours missed even their car keys, money, drivers license, sunglasses, phones,...etc...

Back weh babylon!

Not a right atmosphere to enjoy a reggae festival.

A nice festival is the Reggae Jam. www.reggaejam.de
It´s in the yard of a monestry. Poeple are irie there. You can feel a clean and honest atmosphere. Positive vibes there.

I went to to the rototom festival in Italy last summer.
Really, I dont exagerate but it is the most amazing 10 days reggae festival!!!! And it really worths the price, booking in advance you get discount.
I cant wait to go this summer... LKJ/ SLY AND ROBBIE / PABLO MOSES/ GLEN WASHINGTON/ TIKEN JAH/ and many others are coming...
No one is disappointed once you go to rototom..

They did a couple of years ago. Although even now its not all indie stuff, the line up can be quite diverse.
