Papa Tad v Scientist "Allied Dub Contest"

Post by Rootsman »

Just to keep the confusion thing going.

[cover=2307,2665]

Got this indoors on a CDR.

According to RA there is nine tracks on this album and that is what my CDR contains.

Look at the same album on the Dub LP website and it states there are 10 tracks.

Track 5 on side b "Straight To Tads Head" is missing.

Does anyone know the score with this?

Am I and RA missing a track from the album or was it never present to start with.

BTW, its a brilliant album and I love those spoken intro`s.

If you scroll to the bottom of the RA page it says;

"a 10th track (Straight To Tads Head) is credited on the back cover but isn't on the vinyl".
"Now I know the truth and must reveal it unto the youth."

I am pretty sure that I own the original vinyl pressing and I am used to misleading information on records in any known form, but in this case I have always been wondering about the writing in the matrix saying "(RECUT)" on both sides of the record. Any clue?

it means the first time they cut the stamper it was bad so they used the same matrix number and cut it again, but they add RECUT to the matrix...standard procedure on the mfg'ing end.

thanks yeah, but this "standard procedure" is no standard at all in reggae vinyls, where "standard" means everything else but not "standard" :D
