I'm sure horsey is a m-fer on the drums. I'm sure I've rocked to his beat over and over. Yet, he's probably the most famous drummer that I can't recognize! Can anyone give me some tips for how to distinguish his style?
I can usually, if I'm lucky, tell people like Carly Barrett, Style Scott, Santa (kind of), Sly, etc. Horsey I don't really have a solid idea of his style. So is he a secondary drummer without a distinct style of his own, yet one that definitely holds his own, or what?

Who can articulate some distinguishing characteristics of Horsey's style??????????

His playin in Rockers' over Slave Master is very characteristic IMO

3]All tunes from his Original Armageddon Dub.
4]All tunes from Social Living [Burning spear] and its dub counterpart album 'Living Dub' - especially tune called Jah Boto.

Consistency,Modesty... characterise much of his drumming skills.

I heard him playing live once backing Tappa Zukie - even with a borrowed rock drummer's set-up he sounded like he was back at Studio One. I think it was him behind all those bass drum overdubs on albums like the Juk's Inc ones (prepared to be corrected though).
