LAUREL AITKEN:
A singer who, with his gruff voice and elaborate dress earned himself a place in Jamaica`s music history and a nickname--Cubano. In recent years he has worked in England, where bawdy songs like "Suffering Still" "Scandal In A Brixton Market" "Woppi King" "Fire In Your Wire" "Pussy Price" or "Landlords And Tenants" are much loved in the West Indian communities.

JEWEL AKENS:
A million seller in 1965 with the novelty "The Birds And The Bees" (Era), ex-doo-wopper, one time duetist with Eddie Cochran, Jewel was never able to come to terms with pop success and quickly faded. Attempts at soul comebacks on Colgems and Paula weren`t successful.

ARTHUR ALEXANDER:
One of black music`s most original talents, Arthur`s haunting, near-country and self-penned songs produced classic sixties hits like "You Better Move On", "Where Have You Been" and "Anna" before hitting bottom and prison. A revival on Warner Bros. is now under way.

LEE ALLEN:
The tenor sax of Lee was the basis of the driving, bluesy music pouring from the `50s New Orleans R&B scene. His rocking solos could be heard on thousands of sides including discs by Fats Domino, Huey Smith and Little Richard. Had a big instrumental hit for Ember in 1957 with "Walkin` With Mr. Lee". Now a part of Little Richard`s road band.
