To me it don`t have nothing to do with reggae, very easy listening, middle of the road music. I can`t get my head around the remade digital rhythms that I think lets it all down. Aslo the singers sound like they they don`t care and not putting their heart and soul into it and just getting paid. Well polished over produced. Give me the originals anyday.

Depending on your definition of "golden". If you mean 60's, 70's and early 80's.... then all of them, no exception.

Maybe an exception is Glen Washington? After his introduction on the scene in the late 70's, he toiled away in relative obscurity here in Toronto until his success in the 90's.

In fact, I now really start to believe the right question is indeed: "which artist from the golden era kept a high standard in the 90's and today?..."

Most didn't. Although a song here and there, perhaps even one or two albums, magic was gone.

Perhaps past the two sevens clash, that was it 5-=6 years after...

What is amazing is how terrible some of the output has been in the late 80's and 90's; Just mind boggling.

Nowadays, the only band in my opinion able to deliver roots with quality is Midnite (Ras Mek Peace) and Dezarie.

Burning Spear, with all due respect, is doing good stuff here and there, but, again, the vibe, the magic is rarely present.

Wanna have some "fun"?... Check the Gladiators output past the Nighthawk era. Pioneers: check the stuff they managed to record in 80's and 90's; A disaster. D Brown, Culture, G Isaacs all performed below expectations...

Maybe be past 2010 the ones still alive return with a vengeance!
