Like said before - I was being pedantic!
I happen to have a degree in English too - maybe that's why I'm such a pedant!

I do not poke fun at people because of where they are from. Is that what you mean?
I am neither american nor english but I do live in the US. I'm Irish actually.

I do like to joke around though - and why not?

English is not my first or even second language.
Sometimes my spelling is not correct but, can't be bother checking it (don't wanna spend my life in front of a computer!:)

Back to topic, I always found interesting when Misty's lead singer calls for "rubadub" style on the live album and the band goes into heavy-steppers-late 70s-double snare-dubwise.
"Rubadub" meant something different in those days (77-79).

I spend my life in front of a computer! It's not such a bad thing really when a part of that time is making music.
Inyaki - I'd imagine being very much a live performer being stuck in front of a computer might seem like imprisonment but for the likes of me it is actually very liberating. Though I still have a bit of a hankering for getting out and making some sounds in front of people - just very now and then...when the kids get a bit older and if I'm not reduced to using a walking frame to get about I'll get my jollies on stage - if anyone will care to listen!

For a while there I thought I was setting off an international incident! Glad we're on the same wavelength Fadel :) Always difficult to get humour across in type.

Rubadub fashon! I always took that part of the Misty track as an just a little live jam interlude that loosely approximated dub as it would be done in the studio. A little nod of respect to the dub style but an assertion that they are pure live band. Inyaki - would you really have the sound man start flinging the faders up and down on this stuff?
I have had that experience playing live (rare occasion that!) but at least I knew what to expect so the fact that I was playing silent guitar for much of the set was more funny than ego crushing for me. I probably looked like a total idiot chipping away with no output. Miming! Like it was top of the pops or something.
If you ever want to hear the result of that gig let me know! The mixer was ver apologetic afterwards when he told me that he forgot to turn me up for a big portion of the gig. I just laughed!

Live at the CounterEurovision is one of the first reggae albums I ever heard - probably about '82 - and while I am now and always have been most enthusiastic about studio recordings this has always stood out as an exceptional and wonderful collection of tracks.
I can't even remember when or what tracks I heard - but I did hear some Misty studio recordings and they didn't do it for me - at the time I just thought I'll stick with the live album. It is perfect with all of its live imperfections. To me they are primarily a live band, though I've never had the opportunity to hear them in real life.
Perhaps it's time for me to hear their studio recordings.
Can you (all) point me to the best stuff?

I'd like to say good evening, or good mawnin'...:)

hey
i think iam going to transcribe the interview i recorded with poko back in jan 15th,2000 prior to the release of"roots controller"their studio album in almost 12 years(since 1990).you will a good insight of the band history and their critical moments, ups and downs etc...
iam really open-min,ded my dear acetone and do like meetiong people from every class creed or color and most of all reggae ,jazz soul and funk music taste.
to me"the wise and foolish" and"musi-o-tunya"are up there."earth"is not bad too.all are release on their own "people unite label.wise and foolish is from 1981,the "earth"album is from 1982 while the"musi-o-tunya"which was the biggest seller dates back from 1985.indeed they are more of a live outfit than a studio band
