If you like early Dance Hall, you'll find some great tracks mastered from original tapes.
Best to always try before you buy, so sample them from amazon or the like, and then let your ears decide.

I got the 5 CD set. Very nice indeed. Much focus on Bunny Lee productions, 1983 and earlier. (You can skip the "King Tubby Dub" CD though, not that great and even got som digital tunes (!), out of place.)
Some of the tracks on the other 4 CD's can be found on the Trojan Dancehall Box Set http://www.roots-archives.com/release/3730

OK thanks for the info. A further question: Are most of tracks on these CD's from (now deleted) LP's or also from (7") singles?

Sorry, can't tell. But I can guess it is mostly from LP's. I search on the song names here on RA should answer that. For example, the Charlie Chaplin tunes are from the "Red Pond" LP.
Talking about Trojan Dancehall compilations, we can't leave out this great one! [cover=2388,2755]

Yeah, great collection. Bought the 3xLP for £8 some months ago. Played it a million times since then. Just crucial rootsy dancehall all the way through.

@jb welda
the Dancehall Explosion was speeded up on some tracks, especially on the Drifter riddim tunes (Don Carlos' Johnnie Big Mouth, Cornell Campbell's The Drifter).
