I wonder if they used original master tapes :-)
this sentence 'get rid of surface noise' makes it look like they used old vinyl.....

i still wish he'd put his solomonic 7",12" a/b sides out again in what ever format, they are the hard ones to find where as Dubd'sco vol 1 & 2 have been available for years & even on Ras CD.same with BHMan.Maybe he dosen't have access to the rest of his catalogue????

ps Years ago there was to be released a book called Old Fire Stick with Roger Steffens,on the life of Bunny. The last i heard is after many years in the writing, he decided he didn't want to publish.Maybe that would have passed on his legacy better than another issue of BHMan?

pps Years ago i brought tickets to his show at the Brixton Academy only to travel there on the night & find he hadn't showed up!

i sure am a big fan of most of his records tho:-)

I was there too. Not the only time I've been to a show where he was announced to appear but he didn't.

A reissue project including all the hard to get (extended, dubs, etc...) productions from the 70s and 80s (before he started using drum machines). That would suit me.

respect Bunny, if new people hear your music then it can only be a good thing. As for the how the music will sound; I have never heard (I think) a modern digital remaster; reggae or otherwise that sounds superior to the originals. The exception's maybe the original CD remasters from the late 1980's. Otherwise they sound spikey and just awful. Also I am sure money would have nothing to do with it now would it?

respect

So wait and see if it all really happens. So much is planned and less is realized.

>Island even changed the running order of the tracks
>when they put out 'Sings The Wailers' making the JA
>Solomonic or US Mango issues

really? i was under the impression that the mango press would be identical to the island press since they were, after all, the same company, just different markets. wasnt the mango pressing same as island? (i dont know because i generally bought the UK import rather than the domestic (USA) mango version...typically much better sound and pressing quality on island than mango).

by "rearranged" i hope he means just adding the dub versions instead of overdubbing.

and "remastered" doesnt necessarily have to be bad...an analog recording needs remastering AND remixing to sound good on cd i think, otherwise you get too much high freq in the mix.

one love

I wonder how he's planning on distributing Blackheart Man. The announcement says it's coming out on May 26th, 2009. Amazon still doesn't have any listing for it yet.
