Misty In Roots - Judas Iscariot
When singers refer to 'Nazarene' are they referring to Jesus of Nazareth?
If so there are a good number or tracks with this reference.
Prince Alla's Dreadlocks Nazarene for example.
There are also a few Studio One Christmas songs though these probably might not be considered roots (or even particularly good!)

There's an American gospel reggae band called Christafari. It's not my cup o' tea musically -- and they're not Jamaican, as was originally requested -- but they're sharing a born-again (the lead singer was led astray and, gasp, started growing marijuana) Christian perspective.

When the name: "Jahovah" is sung, for me personally it refers to the Christ.
(don't know, but Burning Spear: 'He prayed' could be also...
-> 40 days & 40 nights He prayed ...)

About this, I remember Max Romeo's song which goes "nooo man is perfect only Far I" he names Christ (or Jesus, I don't have the record handy), and the fact that he felt hungry in the desert, meaning an imperfection on his side...
I think this is an interesting Rasta view as well, the total rejection of Christ, which I have read about previously, not the usual though, I think it is ChristianISM rejection taken to the next level, kinda related to Mutabaruka's view on adopting a Godhead of your own, Africans choosing an African God, not necessarily Selassie being second coming of Christ, but your own chosen Christ. Anyway, not trying to open a discussion on this particular subject matter, just noting it as part of topic's theme.
And don't forget, Bunny's "Baldhead Jesus"
Bendito Amor
Blessed Love from Chile !
