Milton Henry Reissue Project!

Post by blessup »

Greetings to all Roots Archives Brothers & Sisters! I am a very good friend of the legendary singer Milton Henry! Milton and myself are trying to compile a nice vintage Milton Henry Anthology CD for him to have to sell. We are seeking certain sides that neither Milton or I have. Milton did sides for Freedom Sounds, Lee Perry, etc.... we do have access to many but there are still many we seek. If anybody here would be interested in providing nice clean CD dubs of Milton singles in your collection, please by all means let us know. You will be credited and receive a complimentary CD as well. Some of the tunes we're looking for by Milton are "Lonely Lover" as well as Freedom Sounds singles "Get There", "Rastaman In Zion"..... we're also looking for a copy of "Follow Fashion" for Lee Perry. There are others still to find. Also looking for any Wackies sides that didn't come on "Who Do You Think I Am", for instance "No Turning Back", "Some Loving", etc..... please contact if you want to help in this project. All we would need as I said is a CD-R dub done properly. Surface noise is not a huge issue, so please no compressing and digital cleaning is needed!

About those wackies tunes.. have you asked Lloyd Barnes ? he is still alive and in the business......
(loads of 7 and 12"es have never been re-released, nor in Japan, nor in Germany so perhaps he still has the tapes...)

would love to see these tunes on your record btw:
King Medious - this world (Upsetter 7")
M Henry & clive field marshall - Rock On, come On(wackies 12")

That's a great new and a really good initiative.

If it's possible try to press LP, I'm sure that a few of us would be interested

Good luck for this nice project
