...which reggae artist would you say has the most 'semi-official compilations of dubious legality and questionably authenticity' on the market?
I vote King Tubby. They seem to be slapping his name on any old collection of miscellaneous bargain basement (often crappy) dub these days. Or they credit something "recorded at King Tubby's Studio" as a King Tubby record.

Heh, I'm sure that I've seen a dodgy compilation along the lines of 'King Tubby and Scientist meet Lee 'Scratch' Perry at Black Ark'...
