I don't think acid was prevelant in JA in the 70's. "Too much acid..." is Syd's claim to fame, not Jrs'! I have met him many times in JA (he was actually at my wedding, he brought a beautiful bouqet of flowers he picked from a lawn on the way there), but I haven't heard much about him recently. I hope the part about "back on track" and "gigging again" is true.

Well, he was gigging a couple of years ago at least. I read a couple of live reviews at the time (consensus was that he still 'had it', IIRC). I think he did a few shows in Britain and America too.

hr, i dunno, i never really liked his reggae. but it's been at least 15 years since i heard any. he is definitely a bit wacky. he lives near me, my friend used to babysit his kids. he's a perfectly nice fellow, so i have heard. he's just a bit...eccentric?

syd, well- syd just went lulu. maybe it was the acid, maybe acid was just a part of it. afterall, people would dose him ALL DAY LONG without even telling him, for several years. i think that would make just about anyone lose it.

There was that whole situation with 'what exactly caused the Black Ark to burn down' too. Heh, if it was just an electrical fault, Scratch probably wouldn't admit it. It's too good a story...
