80's Dancehall / Floor stompers?

Post by Goldenhen »

Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum, really nice spot! Anyway i'm a Dj and i'm looking to find out about some more tunes I can play in the dance.

A lot of the reggae I listen to at home is more soulful Eg. Ken Parker, Lloyd Charmers, Cornell Campbell, Alton Ellis, Jackie Opel type vibes.

Anyway i'm looking to find some real dancefloor bangers that will have a big impact in the dance.I particularly like 80's dancehall. Tunes like Golden Hen by Tenor Saw etc etc.

I already have a lot of well know classics, tunes like Barrington Levy - Here I Come
Conroy Smith - Dangerous
Wayne Smith - Under My sleng teng
etc etc

Anyway if any one can suggest some similar perhaps slightly lesser known tunes or even some more roots reggae style tunes that would be good for the dance that would be much appreciated.

tenor saw rub a dub market
sugar minott - cross the border, good ting going, raggamuffin sound, easy squeeze both versions, babylon
king everald - automatic
half pint - money man skank, greetings, big family,
mighty diamonds - pass the kutchie

actually i could type all day. you have to work with that for now. all tunes are still avalable on vinyl, some will cost more than 5 but the most u will get for regular 45 price still.
