I've got 'Voodooism' on CD and I've been meaning to check out the other two Pressure Sounds comps at some point.
btw, does anyone know what album the song 'Dreadlocks In Moonlight' is originally from? I know that it's on the Arkology compilation...

@ Funky Punk ,
It came out , in a re-vamped style with a Full Experience backing , different to the original 7" single , as " Big Neck Police " on " Roast Fish , Collie Weed & Cornbread "

that's actually a really popular rhythm for perry. There's a dub called "cutthroat" that's bad ass as well as several dj tracks..

I beg to differ Han, the cuts of From Creation included on Ape-ology are lifted from an original sound man dubplate, proper t'ings. They were all meant to come out on a disco, but they ballsed it up.Han wrote:slappy 2 wrote :i thought the sound was fine...it's also got the many versions of "from creation" dubplate..
there's no 'from creation' dubplate... Al 'homemade' mixes...Remixed demo's and studio outtakes...

what i'm peeved about is the fact that Trojan finally put out a remastered "disco Devil" on CD but it's on a comp that has 20 other songs they regularly recycle... ahh the joy of buying new cd's for one song! sheesh..

I feel your pain. Is it any wonder that people are downloading instead of buying when the record companies insist on doing things like this?slappy 2 wrote:what i'm peeved about is the fact that Trojan finally put out a remastered "disco Devil" on CD but it's on a comp that has 20 other songs they regularly recycle... ahh the joy of buying new cd's for one song! sheesh..
I like Dillinger, as you might guess from the name - and it does seem that every compilation out there (not that many of his full albums are still in print) contains 50-75% duplication of tracks from other comps - it's usually the CB200/Bionic Dread or Bunny Lee/Tubbys era stuff.
Heh, I might be exaggerating a bit here - but it seems as though that 'Cocaine' compilation has been put out by about ten different labels under ten different titles...
