What are good Dub albums and Dub Artists for my taste?

Post by credezcrew24 »

My favorite kind of Dub Music is reggae with normal riddims and vocals that change into a dub halfway through the track. An example of this is the original version of Bunny Wailers Rock and Groove album. Thanks for your help.

go for the so called 'showcase'albums. usually these feature 6 tracks in extended 12 inch fashion (vocal followed by dub or somtimes dj version)

some recommendations:

studio one showcase 1 & 2 (skip vol 3)
sugar minot - showcase (studio one)
horace andy - dancehall showcase (wackies)
barry brown showcase (jammys)
black uhuru showcase (d-roy)

and many more.

breakthrough by the slickers kind of fills that bill if you can find it
as does max romeo and the upsetters' war inna babylon

those aren't exact specifications of what you are after but if you don't have these albums they are a must, as is super ape by the upsetters, all mix in vocals with heavy dubs and some work out with vocals -> dub like you are seeking

and also wayne jarrett's showcase vol 1

and in general, for artists, you can find great stuff that came from scratch's lab, that will fit your liking of dubs with vocals.
