reggae scene in/around sydney australia

Post by Amelie »

I will be in Sydney in August/September 09 and would love to enjoy some roots reggae whilst there. Can anyone give guidance on where to go or sites where I can make connections with reggae enthusiasts over there? Really grateful for any help.

Have a look at www.ozreggae.com - there's a live events section which covers most things on around town (& the rest of the country).
Join the forum there - plenty of people to link with - the reggae scene in Sydney isn't huge but there are some good dances, radio shows etc & some very knowledgeable people!

@ Chino.. The IGNITERS did a DUB/SKA album around that time too..A High School friend of mine was in the ALLNITERS (SKA) and the IGNITERS was a side project with various musicians including the Sax player from IN XS.
also "10 DUBS THAT SHOOK THE WORLD" is a great Aussie Dub album worth checking out.

@ Amilie...check out KING TIDE they are great band.
also if you are in Brisbane PM me and I will let you know what is happening here,
Lick it back Selecta!
