I got both LP's and they're good in my opinion. But it takes some time to get in to them - especially Doemans vocal style. I don't think they're that difficult to score quite cheap on eBay.

I know not much at all about Anthony Doeman. I know he left the US and went to JA sometime in either the late 80's or in the 90's and sometime in the 90's he passed away. He was supposedly a very kind and good person. A true rastaman.

There's an ultrawicked compilation released on Doemans Drum & Bass label that has productions by King Culture. Crucial album. You should try to hunt that one down;

A friend of mine knew him very well, and told me he died after eating a piece of poisonous fish. He was, among other things, the spiritual advisor to Hank Holmes, long time co-host of The Reggae Beat radio show in L.A. in the 80s.

King Culture is a friendly cat. Nice man. Why don't you call him and ask about Doeman?

I know no harm was meant, but I'm not so sure that "spiritual advisor to Hank Holmes" is the best term to describe their relationship. Maybe "I & I Connected" might be a tad bit better.

A real good thing that came from Hank and A. Doeman's relationship = 7" 45rpm, "King Selassie I Live" by A. Doeman, produced by Hank Holmes. One of A. Doeman's stronger efforts, musically/vocally speaking.

Only good feelings and memories when it comes to thinking about A. Doeman!
