Well, thanks to Rita Marley, a lot of people who were a crucial part of Bob's music are getting the short end of the stick now that Bob is gone...
Junior Braithwaite was a better singer than Bob, but it's kind of hard to judge, since I imagine he was only 17 or 18 at the time but sounds like he's 12!

I find myself wondering just how many of the Wailers' tunes which were credited solely to Bob were actually whole band efforts in reality. I seem to remember Peter claiming in an interview that he never got the recognition (or the royalties) he deserved for a lot of the stuff he'd written with the Wailers.Mick Sleeper wrote:Well, thanks to Rita Marley, a lot of people who were a crucial part of Bob's music are getting the short end of the stick now that Bob is gone...

I'm not particularly singling out Bob here for taking the credit for other peoples' work - it seemed to be (and may still be) the norm in Jamaica to give the songwriting credit to the singer (or maybe the singer and the producer) when it's sometimes blatantly clear that it's either a) a cover with a couple of lines changed, or b) a new vocal take on an old riddim - a riddim that was certainly not created by anyone appearing on the recording in question.
