This is going to be interesting. I've only got two or three Johnny Clarke albums which I enjoy (wouldn't say crucial though).

Funkyfred, all the LP's you mention are killers AND hard to find, and are OG pressed; They haven't been reissued as such (but as part of compilations for some); I personally never liked the "Now Woman No Cry" LP but know it is somehwat of a collectors item, probably because it was limited in pressing from the beginning (like the "Turning Back The Hands Of Time" from Cornell Campbell; Few pressed, average music for most tracks, high prices...); I would add "Girl I Love You" to the bunch.
And then, one more thought: Clarke really has the "roots period" and the "digital /including now" as very seperate vibes. I think he's one of the few that's been totally adopted by both eras. The Gussie P, Jah Shaka stuff is very good stuff, hugely popular in sounds systems. So was his earlier work. A great vocalist.

IMO, the best (and heaviest!) are:
Rockers Time Now
Authorised Rockers
Originally Mr Clarke
Two superb compilations:
A Ruffer Version - At King Tubby´s 1974-1978
Dreader Dread 1976-1978

Have only DISCO DUB, which is not bad, but not too impressing either.
So how does it rank against the other records mentioned here?
