Re: Dambala
Hi, jahadambom i'm sfraid I have no information concerning the Rally Rally Round album, or if it was ever released. i do recall hearing some rumors at the time that Gus was about to release an album, but if it really happened I don't know.
I do have in my possesion some unreleased dambala tracks that were to be the first album, they are on cassete tape and are unfinished and unmixed plus there is a lot of hiss on the tapes, I would love to let you guys have them, but the logistics of "permissions" and who owns the tracks are very much in doubt...sorry! If anyone is interested, I do have an article from Black Music and Jazz review with an image and interview of the group, which I could scan and email to anyone who is interested in having it, I know that it's not the same as having the music, but at least you can see who is who...peace

Re: Dambala
Hi jahadambom, no sorry I also don't have the 'Rally Rally Round' Album but I have proof of existance through a very old book which was made at the beginning of the 80's in which are reprinted a lot of covers of original and even then very rare reggae albums. In this book there is the cover of this album along with the matrix-infos I gave.

@ sergio619 "whats the name of that book ?"
The name of the book is "Jah Music" - The evolution Of the Popular Jamaican Song - was published in 1980 by Heinemann Educational Books ltd, written by Sebastian Clark. ISBN 0-435-82140-7
There you go, I wish you luck in finding it though...

The book I am referring to is 'Roots Rock Special' and came in a very limited edition (only 120 copies !!!). First issue was 1981 and last updated in glorious format in 1985.
