Revolutionaries album question

I am pretty clued up on the Revolutionaries and specifically their dub albums but last night I was played an album which has got me baffled and I was wondering if it is a legitimate album or a bogus album.

It is definitely the Revolutionaries as I know their music and do recognise most of the tracks. It contains 12 tracks all of which have sound effect intro`s ranging from various types of sirens ie police/ambulance, door bells etc

One track is a dub cut to Leroy Smart “Meaning Of Life” another a dub cut of “Darker Shade of Black”. Also there are a couple of dubs that also appear on “Revolutionary Sounds Vol 2” but have had these intro effects added and also have a slightly different sound in their mix.

It also contains 4 tracks that were released as a Ballistic 12” / EP that has been mentioned in a previous thread as “Fatal Dub”.

It is on a plain white label with no writing and is in a plain cardboard sleeve.

The person who played it to me has had this album for about 25 years and from memory reckons it was picked up at a shop over Chatsworth Road in Hackney.

Any ideas on this one cause I think it’s a bootleg but am not 100% sure as I did hear ages ago that their was an album called “Fatal Dub” but have never personally seen such an album.

Phew, that sounds like a tuff one.
By description of the sound-fx I would have gone into a more Joe Gibbs directon (African Dubs) but you seem to be sure about a Channel One sound.
If you only had written down a matrix#...

I had a look but their was no matrix number as such but had some writing scribed on the run out that was nye on impossibnle to make out.

But it definately had a channel one sound on those dubs and not Joe Gibbs.

Sorry, aint got no more info that will help clear this one up.

I was wondering though if Channel One had an album that was perhaps intended to be released through Ballistic but never got a release and perhaps some bootlegs appeared.

Reason I say that is this is definately in the vein of the Revolutionaries Channel One output that appeared on Ballistic. ie "Rasta Fire", "Revolutionary Sounds Vol 2", and the 12" that I mentioned.

There is supposedly a legit album called Fatal Dub.

Thanks ACEtone for refreshing my memory cells. But that 4-track-ep isn't the one Rootsman seems to ask for (he gave that answer himself in that earlier thread).

The album in question is a 12-track. That's quite rare for the Channel One dub albums of the 1970s, or for dub records of that period in general. There are some King Tubby/Aggrovators from around 1974 until1976 with more than 10 tracks but I have not found one Channel One/Revolutionaries album having 12 tracks.

I know that thread as I did partake and pass comment there as to that 12"/EP.

What I heard last night did not sound like a thrown together album.

It had all the earmarks of a Channel One Revolutionaries dub/insttrumental album. The effects were not out of place and did not sound like they had been added at a later date.

There were no out of place overdubs and to my ears sounded late 70`s.

It contained the 4 tracks that made up that 12" (which were also on Rasta Fire), plus the other tracks that I stated above.

I have a few Revolutionaries Dub albums that I 'found' on the internet (in addition to the ones I actually bought!). I'll check if any of them match up.
Some rare stuff does turn up in all sorts of places...

I don't have this one so I have no idea if the vocals are full vocals or dubbed vocals.
